Why Choose an Orangery?
An orangery extension is the perfect way to not only extend your home, but to also give you that priceless “wow” factor when you walk into it. One of the great things about orangeries is that they make the most of any natural light through their lanterns in the roof. Orangery extensions lend themselves perfectly to open plan areas and kitchen/diners as the lanterns result in the area feeling open, bright and spacious, especially if you knock through and open up from the house. As with anything in life, it can be difficult to decide on the product that is suitable for you. An orangery extension has the same thresholds for energy efficiency as a traditional extension, which means these thresholds must be met in order for it to be open to the rest of the house, and Building Regulations followed. Customisation to fit your space
With the “wow” factor such a focus point of an orangery extension, it is often forgotten that an orangery is an extremely versatile option to extend your home. Live in a traditional cottage? Then why not opt for flush sash windows in a traditional colour. Want a modern feel? Then maybe aluminium bi-folds and striking glazing is your answer. With an orangery extension, you can opt for traditional brick and block, or as with a traditional extension choose a timber framed or SIPs build and have a rendered or cladded finish.
